On December 18, 2014 the shelter began offering its services to women and their children who are victims of domestic violence. Banderas Bay Women’s Shelter is one of very few shelters in Mexico and the only shelter in the State of Nayarit.
The Banderas Bay Women’s Shelter works with the mothers to learn a skill so they are able to support themselves and their children. At this time, the shelter is home to 4 women and their children for a total of 17 people. There is currently room for 2 more families to arrive.
